Polestar 3 using CabinAir technology to protect driver and passenger health
publicado por Cabin Air elStockholm, October 18 - Polestar, the Swedish premium electric vehicle manufacturer, announced at the world premiere of its latest model that CabinAir’s air purification technology will be bringing healthier in-cabin air to the vehicle’s drivers and passengers. The technology has been integrated in the Advanced Air Cleaner (AAC).
At the world premiere of Polestar 3, the CEO of Polestar, Thomas Ingenlath, made it clear that the company takes its customers’ well-being seriously. During the event, he spotlighted the issue of air pollution, a major public health threat in cities around the world. He cited World Health Organization (WHO) data showing that ambient air pollution causes 4.2 million premature deaths per year and that more than 90% of children breathe toxic air every day.
Together with CabinAir and Volvo Cars, Polestar is making sure that the in-cabin air in its latest model is clean and healthy. With the Advanced Air Cleaner (AAC) system, the air breathed inside Polestar 3 will be 95% free of fine harmful particles, 97% free of viruses and 99.9% free of pollen.
Secret to success
The solution invented by CabinAir combines active particle charging technology with an optimized mechanical filter. This technology gives pollution particles an electrical charge as they enter the system, so they can be trapped in the filter much more effectively than in a passive filter-only system.
“Working directly with an OEM does allow us to further optimize performance by integrating our technology into the whole design of a car’s HVAC system,” says Daniel Hagström, CabinAir CEO and co-founder. “We are extremely proud of being chosen to be a volume supplier to Polestar. It’s proof that we are doing things right.”
Recently, the Advanced Air Cleaner was certified as asthma & allergy-friendly by Allergy Standards Limited (ASL), removing up to 99.9 per cent of grass, tree and weed pollen allergens from incoming air.
Polestar 3 deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
