CabinAir becomes independent company

As of today, we are an independent company via a management buy-out. Blueair management and CabinAir management think this is a good, common-sense decision for both sides. The reason is that although the technology for integrated air purification for cars has its roots in the same technology as Blueair, the consumer products business is very different from the Tier 1 automotive components business. There’s no overlap on timelines, marketing, relationships with customers, corporate cultures, product design, certifications, and so on.

We are off to a great start, with an agreement already with a global, premium automobile brand. And we are scheduled to start mass production in our Shenzen, China, plant in March. The first cars with our system should be in Chinese showrooms this summer. With people spending longer hours commuting in their cars (where the air can be many times worse than outside), our system is an idea whose time has come!
